92.1 BOB FM is the radio station Alaska listeners demanded: a station that plays less commercials, doesn’t have DJ’s that talk too much, and doesn’t play the same songs over and over again. Founded by Bob in September of 2005, Bob has made it his mission to share all kinds of great songs with all his friends and neighbors across Anchorage and the Valley.
BOB plays a wide variety of familiar music, centered on Pop/Rock hits from the 70's and 80's, as well as some songs from the 60's and the 90's. That’s why Bob says he plays “the 70’s… 80’s… and Whatever”.
BOB has over 1,500 songs in his music library – five times more songs than “normal” radio stations. So BOB can play lots of great music without ever playing any song twice in the same day...thought sometime he messes up - though not to often. It’s kind of like listening to your iPod on “shuffle” – except BOB pays all the download fees! And everyday Bob is digging up more songs...in fact he recently just found a bunch more albums his Dad had stored at the house in Wasilla.
What kind of songs will you hear on BOB? All kinds! BOB doesn’t care what “kind” of songs he plays – or even when the songs came out – as long as they’re good songs!
